At the heart of our work is Raul Yzaguirre Schools for Success (RYSS), a PK-12 open-enrollment charter school district serving more than 1,900 students in eight schools that provide a rigorous academic environment grounded in cultural pride, character development, and college readiness. As we continue to expand our reach and deepen our impact, we are seeking a visionary and mission-driven Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our leadership team. Job Overview The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for the financial excellence of Tejano Center’s (TC) schools and community programs. The CFO will set the financial strategy for TC’s $43M revenue budget while also designing and delivering effective financial systems across the organization. The CFO will guide decision making to the senior leadership team, CEO/Superintendent and board of trustees. The CFO will be ultimately responsible for meeting school and program area’s financial needs. The CFO reports directly to the CEO/Superintendent and plays an essential role as a member of the TC senior leadership team. The CFO works closely and collaboratively with other TC senior leadership to meet the needs of the RYSS schools, community programs, and the overall goals of TC. |
Qualifications: | Education, Experience, & Skills Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or other related field required; master’s degree preferred (MPA, MBA, or other relevant degrees) 7+ years’ experience with supervisory responsibility in the fields of finance or accounting Advanced knowledge of school finance, budgeting, accounting systems, and economics; Knowledge of information/data processing systems and financial applications Ability to resolve conflict, listen and appropriately respond to concerns. Demonstrate strong leadership and management skills Ability to manage budget and personnel, implement policies, and interpret data Excellent communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills Experience supervising finance and operational teams, working with boards, developing budgets, and working with auditors Proficiency in MS Office Suite (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams) and Google Drive |
