Description/Notes: | Director II - Science Position Purpose Leads and directs the development, implementation, and monitoring of a district-wide Science department in alignment with the district’s Strategic Plan and commitment to academic excellence. Supports campuses, teachers, principals, and district service center staff in implementing a rigorous science program for all learners across PK-12 programs. Ensures that the learning and leading division practices are designed to close the achievement and opportunity gaps throughout the District to ensure equity for all learners. Ensures appropriate support is provided to campuses through department personnel. |
Qualifications: | Minimum Required Qualifications Education: Master’s degree from accredited college or university required. Major in Science, Education, or content related field preferred; Certificate/License: Eligible for a Valid Texas Teaching Certification required. Attainment of certification within six months is a condition of continued employment; Valid Texas Teaching Certification in the area of Science required Valid Texas Mid-Management or Principal Certification or Principal Certification preferred. Experience: Required: 5 years’ experience including: 3 years’ teaching experience in Science required; 2 years’ leadership (non-classroom) at campus or central office level required (Coach, Dean, Assistant Principal, Principal, Content Coordinator, Content Director, etc.) Preferred: Experience in instructional leadership roles, including extensive experience working with Science. Salary Range: | Salary: $109,703 - $132,174 |
