| Description/Notes: | The food service operation at each campus is funded by the respective campus PTA/PTO in facilities that are maintained by HPISD and staffed by HPISD employees. The Director of Food Services is a liaison between the PTA’s and HPISD. The position plans and implements programs that meet district nutritional standards for students, promotes development of sound nutritional practices, and ensures a safe and sanitary environment. | Qualifications: | Education/Certification: Bachelor's Degree in foods and nutrition, dietetics, home economics, food service management, or a culinary degree Registered Dietician (RD) Preferred Serve-Safe Manager Certification or equivalent Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of menu planning, food purchasing, and preparation of foods in food service environment Knowledge of methods, materials, equipment, and kitchen format used in institutional food service Ability to conduct on-site inspections of food service facilities district-wide Knowledge of current POS systems used in food services settings Ability to manage budget and personnel Ability to implement policy and procedures Knowledge of health department procedures Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills |
| Salary Range: | $88,379 - $114,893, Pay Grade 6, Based on Years of Creditable Experience |
