Description/Notes: Coordinates, develops, implements, and leads initiatives that create and promote an exceptional experience for new teachers by establishing close partnerships with campus leaders, executive leadership, universities, and teacher organizations. Cultivates teacher pipelines through the design and delivery of strategic development innovations. Collaborates with Curriculum & Instruction Department in developing and implementing a thriving mentorship program for first-year teachers. Verifies and monitors the certification status of applicants and employees. Confirms district compliance with state certification and licensing requirements.
Qualifications: Education/Certification:

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of selection, training, and supervision of personnel
Knowledge of effective, research-based mentoring programs
Ability to understand and implement certification rules and procedures
Ability to implement policy and procedures
Ability to interpret data
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to handle confidential information with absolute discretion
Ability to organize and coordinate work, including maintaining attention to detail and quality, and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines

Experience:

3-5 years with a bachelor’s degree and human resources management, educational leadership, or multiple years of progressively advanced experience.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Provides leadership in planning, implementing, and evaluating mentoring programs for first-year teachers.
Assists with orientation programs for new employees.
Recruits, selects and trains mentors for first-year teachers.
Recruits, retains, and maintains district staff.
Keeps close working relationships with Curriculum & Instruction Directors and Coordinators, partnering to support teachers through mentorship efforts.
Secures consultants, specialists, materials, and other community resources to assist in meeting program goals.
Serves as a resource for first-year teachers in their integration with Waco ISD.
Provides leadership for and oversees the Grow Our Own Initiative (Para2Teacher Program).
Develop and maintain a teacher pipeline development framework aligned with Waco ISD’s goals and priorities.
Partners with local universities, coordinating joint initiatives through campus leadership to build teacher pipeline programs and systems.
Collaborates with executive leaders to ensure program quality and success.
Measures and tracks the impact of teacher development programs to ensure progress toward goals.
Collaborates with Curriculum & Instruction on best practices that support instruction and technology for teaching and learning.
Process teacher applications and verify certification with the Texas State Board of Educator Certification (SBEC), universities, colleges, and education agencies in other states.
Track certification, testing, and permit status and follow-up with employees to ensure completion of certification requirements within established timelines. Process SBEC permit applications and monitor permit status.
Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required including maintaining a database of certification and licensing information for certified or licensed professionals, paraprofessionals, and auxiliary employees.
Creates and tracks T-TESS orientation for new hires.
Performs other duties as may be assigned.
Follows all rules, regulations, and policies of the Waco ISD and follows directives from superiors.

Salary Range: 226 Days
$73,043 minimum / $102,328 maximum
