Utopia is a small rural school district located approximately 60 miles west of San Antonio in the Texas Hill Country. The district has an enrolment of approximately 200 students in grades PK - 12. Utopia operates on a four day instructional week! |
| Qualifications: | Summary: The Superintendent will be responsible for providing leadership and direction for the Utopia Independent School District. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a passion for education, and the ability to work collaboratively with a team. Responsibilities: - Oversee the daily operations of the school district - Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the district runs efficiently and effectively - Work with the school board to develop and implement long-term strategic plans for the district - Ensure that all district programs and services are aligned with state and federal regulations - Manage the district's budget and ensure that resources are allocated appropriately - Hire and supervise district staff, including teachers, administrators, and support staff - Foster a positive and inclusive school culture that supports student achievement and success - Communicate regularly with parents, community members, and stakeholders to ensure transparency and accountability Requirements: - Master's degree in education or a related field - At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role in education - Texas Superintendent certification or ability to obtain certification - Strong communication skills, both verbal and written - Ability to work collaboratively with a team - Knowledge of state and federal education regulations and policies - Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans - Experience managing budgets and allocating resources - Passion for education and a commitment to student success |
