| Description/Notes: | The Huntington ISD Board of Trustees is searching for an educational leader to serve as its Superintendent of Schools. HISD is a 3-A rural district nestled within 226 square miles on the outskirts of Lufkin in Angelina County. The District is approximately 2 hours north of Houston, 3 hours south of Dallas, and positioned nicely at just around 2 hours from Tyler. The District serves 1,565 students across five campuses, with a 20.1 million dollar budget for the current 2024-2025 school year. |
| Qualifications: | The ideal candidate will possess the following vital characteristics and qualifications: • A valid Texas superintendent certificate with preferred experience serving as superintendent • A minimum of three years’ experience as an administrator • A leader knowledgeable in all aspects of public school operations, with proven success in curriculum and data-driven instructional strategies serving students of various populations • An individual committed to working in partnership with the Board of Trustees, parents, and community to preserve its conservative values • A candidate willing to reside within the District within 6 months of start date |
