Description/Notes: | PRIMARY PURPOSE: Responsible for execution of all strategic initiatives and leadership institutes within the district and outside of the district when necessary; Responsible for strategic communications and events that are aligned to the overall mission and vision of the district and to board goals. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: 1. Coordinate and Collaborate with all cabinet members to fulfill the mission of the district 2. Bond and strategic communication 3. Bond activities and initiatives including community meetings, organization of events, coordination of communication from Project Manager, Architects, Website Updates. 4. Chief liaison to Superintendent regarding Bond updates 5. Collaborate with Chief of Finance to complete bond project 6. Execution of events for creation of strategic plan, coordination with strategic planning partner company 7. Collaboration with Longview Foundation to execute a State of the Schools event. 8. Coordination of board retreats 9. Oversee and facilitate consistent function across finance, bond operations, strategic initiatives, and communications department, establishment of process and systems that yield organizational efficiency 10. Represent the superintendent and district before school and community groups and governmental bodies as requested. 11. Advise and provide information to the superintendent’s staff, Board of Trustees, district administrators, and others as necessary Other 12. Attend board meetings and make presentations when appropriate and/or requested. 13. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy. 14. Compile, maintain, file, and present all reports, records, and other documents as required. 15. Other strategic duties as assigned Personnel Management 16. Oversight of Communications team, liaison for special projects personnel in various departments including any consultants hired by the district for communications/retreats/strategic planning 17. Promote and support ongoing teamwork within the department. 18. Provide continuous staff development opportunities for district wide staff members related to communications, marketing, social media, etc. Administration 19. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. 20. Successfully advances district initiatives. 21. Other duties may be assigned as needed. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 22. Supervise assigned staff (e.g. employee concerns/problems, directing work, training, disciplining, Performance Appraisals, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring work assignments are complete and within department objectives. |
Qualifications: | Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience Special Knowledge/Skills: ● Experience leading a team ● Ability to implement policy and procedures ● Excellent organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills Minimum Experience: Three (3) years of successful administrative and leadership experience in education |
Salary Range: | $125,349 - $178,526 |
