Description/Notes: Primary Purpose:
To improve the quality of instruction through:
Facilitate and/or participating in Professional Learning Communities
Enhance the pedagogical practices of teachers and administrators
Provide district level professional development
Facilitate the design and delivery of the mathematics curriculum to maximize student
learning.

Qualifications: Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
1. Valid teacher certification

Special Knowledge/Skills:
1. Extensive knowledge of curriculum, instruction and assessment
2. Working knowledge of TEKS and state assessments
3. Working knowledge of instructional technology and application
4. Demonstrated strength in instruction, curriculum, and lesson design/delivery
5. Ability to evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness
6. Strong communication and training/presentation skills
7. Ability to work effectively with principals, teachers, and students
8. Extensive knowledge of mathematics instruction and workshop methods.
9. Ability to lead Professional Learning Communities
10. Ability to coach teachers in classroom settings including observations with formative
feedback
11. Ability to utilize formal and informal data to inform instruction
12. Ability to support others in the implementation of the district curriculum, effective
teaching strategies, and other best practices in mathematics

Experience:
1. Minimum of five years teaching experience, preferred
2. Five years successful implementation of the district’s curriculum, preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Improve the quality of instruction via the coaching process
2. Participate in and/or facilitating campus based Professional Learning Communities
3. Provide instructional leadership for the implementation of the mathematics
curriculum
4. Provide formative feedback to teachers regarding instructional practices
5. Provide leadership during professional development in the area of mathematics in
conjunction with campus and district needs
6. Model effective teaching practices at the campus level
7. Analyze district, campus and student achievement data from state and local
assessments

Tools/Equipment Used: Personal computer and peripherals; standard instructional
equipment;

Posture: Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping,

Environment: Work inside, may work outside; regular exposure to noise

Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; work prolonged or irregular hours. Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); interpret policy, procedures, and data; analyze data; implement policy and procedure; coordinate district functions. District-wide and statewide travel. Occasional prolonged and irregular hours. Physical demands of preparing for professional development sessions.

Salary Range: AP 3 - $65,262 to $76,706
