Description/Notes: JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, and delivering the instructional program in the content area of assignment at the state school for youth who have been adjudicated delinquent of felony offenses, assigned to a high security correctional facility, and have a wide variety of temperaments and specialized needs. Work involves assessing students, providing individualized, competency based instruction, and maintaining a positive teaching/learning environment in which youth are guided and encouraged to develop and fulfill their academic potential. May be required to work overtime and/or be on call.
Qualifications: REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational institution and a valid Secondary Texas Teacher Certification in the specified subject assignment area. Must be highly qualified in all areas of teaching assignment.

Failure to maintain required certification in the state of Texas will result in termination of employment.

This position is subject to mandatory pre-employment drug testing and any offer of employment is contingent upon acceptable results from a drug screen conducted for the agency.

4.Ability to implement Texas Education Agency (TEA) education policies and procedures.
5.Ability to review and implement agency policies, procedures, and operating guidelines.
6.Ability to convey and interpret information to students.
7.Ability to communicate orally and in writing with students, parents, administrators, and other professionals involved in the education of agency youth.
8.Ability to work under stressful conditions, with possible occurrences of extreme heightened stress.
9.Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
10.Ability to work collaboratively with all stakeholders and maintain a professional, courteous demeanor.
11.Ability to keep accurate files and records.
Salary Range: $3,917.47 - $5,716.84 (Salary will be based on the selected applicant's experience as verified on the Teacher Service Record)
