Description/Notes: | The Superintendent of Schools serves as the Chief Executive Officer and educational leader of the District, responsible for the effective execution of policies adopted by the Districts board of trustees. The Superintendent of Schools assumes administrative responsibility for the planning, operation, supervision and evaluation of the education programs, services, and facilities of the District and for the annual appraisal of District staff. The Superintendent of Schools must act with integrity, support organizational goals, demonstrate the ability to inspire, grow and motivate others, utilize feedback, drive for results, and commit to championing the needs of the students, employees and District overall. |
Qualifications: | QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Education/Certification: o Masters degree in Educational Administration or Education related field o Doctorate in Educational Administration or Education related field (Preferred) o Valid Texas School Administrative Certification o Valid Texas Superintendent Certification (in process or able to obtain) Special Knowledge/Skills: o Knowledge of how a school District functions and understanding of the roles of the Board, superintendent, and campus administration o Proven record of improving academic and organizational success o Ability to evaluate all programs based on effectiveness o Ability to manage budget and personnel o Ability to manage District-wide initiatives o Ability to ensure policies are implemented throughout District o Strong organizational, communication, public relations and interpersonal skills o Ability to fundraise on behalf of the School District o Ability to handle conflict resolution both internally and externally o Experience with hiring, evaluating, supervising, and coaching staff Minimum Experience: o Combination of at least 5-10 years of successful leadership experience at the District and campus level o Experience in small and rural school setting (Preferred) |
