| Description/Notes: | Seeking an agriculture science teacher with a focus in agriculture mechanics and willing to teach other courses if needed. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society Special Knowledge/Skills/Willingness: Must work with present teacher to operate a comprehensive agriculture program that includes a variety of agricultural course offerings. Help supervise agricultural experience projects (including but not limited to livestock, ag mechanics, horticulture, and science fair) Must be organized and keep work area neat Assist students in completing on-line record books, advanced awards, degrees, scholarships Train existing and new LDE and CDE teams to maintain a high level competitiveness at the state level Working relationship with County Extension Agent/4-H Clubs and promote chapter program throughout school and community Strong interpersonal and public relations skills and strong work ethic as well as classroom management with a willingness to work around active student schedules Must have initiative to work before and after school, some weekends, and attend numerous summer events and be dedicated, motivated and willing to travel Must be willing to drive school truck and trailers for department use |
| Qualifications: | Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or college Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for Vocational Agricultural. Ability to meet Highly Effective standards in appropriate academic areas Demonstrated competence in the core academic subject area assigned Preferred 3 years of welding experience |
