| Description/Notes: | Implement the special education referral, evaluation, and educational planning process. Assess the educational progress, learning styles, and program needs of students referred to special education services. Provide diagnostic information and work cooperatively with instructional personnel to provide the most appropriate programs for the students with disabilities. Facilitate coordination of the district’s special education program to ensure provision of needed services for students with special needs. Assess the educational needs of students referred for special education services. |
| Qualifications: | Education/Certification Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university Valid Texas license as an Educational Diagnostician Special Knowledge/Skills Knowledge of procedures for assessing achievement and intellectual abilities for educational purposes Understanding of developmental disorders in childhood Ability to interpret data from educational and psychological evaluations Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to communicate with all levels of special needs students, their parents, and school personnel Knowledge of local, state and federal special education policies and procedures Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with related service providers regarding evaluation and student services Experience Experience in a school setting as an Educational Diagnostician |
