| Description/Notes: | Junior High and High School Agricultural Science Teacher for the 2024 - 2025 School Year Position Purpose Seeking Agriculture Science teacher in a three – teacher department to help direct and manage the agricultural science program for assigned campuses. Special Knowledge/Skills: • Knowledge of agricultural science and technology • Knowledge of curriculum and instruction • Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior • Ability to supervise agricultural field experiences • Ability to manage budget and personnel • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills Major Responsibilities and Duties • Plan and teach classes in Principals of Agriculture, Small Animal Management and possible courses that align with the teacher’s areas of expertise • Oversee Supervised Agricultural Experience Program (SAEP) • Develop and help train LDE and CDE teams • Serve as advisor to local Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapter • Establish and maintain a professional relationship and open communication with parents, students and colleagues • Help maintain Ag farm with crop production Benefits • Up to 5% match on annuity • District currently pays up to $645.00 per month of employee health insurance • 12-month contract with a stipend • Ag truck furnished for school use • Brand new Ag farm facility • Wonderful district to work |
| Qualifications: | Qualifications Education/Certification: • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university • Valid Texas teaching certificate with require endorsements or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI) • Demonstrated competency in agricultural science |
