Description/Notes: | Primary Purpose To provide clerical and office support functions and activities to support the ESC. Essential Duties and Responsibilities ● Actively participate in and/or provide leadership for inter-departmental teams to help improve student performance in the region, improve the ESC’s internal operations, and meet the established goals and objectives for the ESC ● Responsive as a first point of contact for all stakeholders in the education community ● Problem-solve with Coordinator ● Handle routine program assistant duties, such as professional development workshops and consultant travel preparation, implementation, and conclusion of professional development workshops and consultant travel ● Interact with internal and external clients with courtesy and professionalism ● Initiate and receive on purchase orders ● Execute business office procedures as necessary ● Receive and route incoming calls and relay messages ● Maintain appropriate records as assigned ● Participate in staff training as assigned ● Maintain office supplies as needed ● Maintain a good attitude and interact at a professional level while working cooperatively with other members of the staff to accomplish the goals and objectives of the department and the service center ● Maintain confidentiality ● Provide support for local, state, and federal programs supervised by leadership ● Perform other program assistant duties as assigned |
Qualifications: | To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Education/Certification: ● High School Diploma or equivalent ● College coursework appropriate to the position or office administration certification, preferred Special Knowledge/Skills: ● Team-oriented attitude and desire to work collaboratively with ESC staff and campus/district/charter school personnel ● Strong computer and internet research skills including the ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets, word processing, and databases ● Proficiency in keyboarding, spelling, proofreading, grammar, and punctuation in oral and written communication ● Experience in creating correspondence, reports, brochures, graphics, and spreadsheets with computer software ● Ability to manage staff schedules and assigned internal systems ● Project coordination experience ● Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills ● Excellent multi-tasking and problem-solving skills ● Skill in setting priorities that accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities ● Ability to perform effectively under conditions of fluctuating workload ● Alternatives to the above qualifications that may be appropriate ● Ability to follow business office procedures Experience: ● Minimum of five years of successful program assistant experience |
Salary Range: | $36,160 (minimum) - $44,115 (midpoint) |
