Description/Notes: Director of Admission

Houston Christian High School (HCHS) is accepting applications for the position of Director of Admission. This position is responsible for oversight and administration of all phases of the admission process and the re-enrollment program. The Director of Admission is expected to initiate and evaluate new admission activities designed to increase inquiries within and beyond traditional private feeder school programs and provide appropriate weekly and quarterly admission reports to the Head of School.

The Director of Admission has responsibility for and supervises all entrance examinations, interviews, scoring processes and tracking of admission documentation and is responsible to oversee all admission events. This is a twelve month, exempt position, reporting to the Head of School and is a member of the Administrative Team. This director role works collaboratively with all departments and supervises the Admission Associate and the Admission Administrative Assistant. Application information is below.

Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPECTATIONS:

Bachelors’ Degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum five years of experience in Education or relatable experience. Christian school experience is preferred.
Proficient in basic technology applications. Google Apps knowledge is essential.
Experience with a Student Admission and Enrollment system. Blackbaud preferred.
Excellent verbal, visual, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and consistently meet deadlines.
A successful track record in setting priorities, keen analytical, organization and problem solving skills and in sound
decision-making.
High level of integrity, credibility, diplomacy, and initiative, with a high regard for confidentiality.

Houston Christian High School (HCHS) Benefits for Twelve-Month Employees

Medical and Prescription Drug Insurance, Dental and Vision Insurance
All full time employees are eligible to enroll in HCHS medical, dental, and/or vision insurance. Coverage begins on the first of the month following the date of hire. HCHS pays for approximately 75-90% of the health insurance premiums for full-time employees.

Spending Accounts
Full-time employees may participate in an FSA or HSA account, as eligible. Houston Christian contributes $500 to the employee’s HSA account in January and July (prorated after January or July) when the employee enrolls in the high deductible medical insurance plan.

Wellness
An employee on any HCHS medical insurance plan may earn up to $500 annually toward their spending account through our Wellness Program. A spouse covered by HCHS medical insurance can also participate in the wellness program and earn up to an additional $500 toward the employee’s spending account.

We offer a Flu Shot clinic and a Biometric Screening clinic annually.

Houston Christian, under certain parameters, subsidizes up to 70% of an employee’s lunches provided by Taher Food Services for Building Bridges lunches.

All employees are encouraged to take advantage of our fitness center to exercise and receive fitness training before and after school at no cost to employees. Our fitness center is overseen by Dynamic Sports Training.

Life Insurance
HCHS provides a life insurance policy with a $25,000 death benefit for each full-time employee.

403(b) Qualified Retirement Plan
HCHS provides a 403(b) Qualified Retirement plan which is an excellent means of long-term savings for retirement. Employees are given the option to defer any amount of their salaries (up to IRS limits) into the plan. HCHS matches the employee's contributions up to 3%-6% of salaries depending on years of service with HCHS.

Time off Benefits
Full time twelve-month employees are eligible for 12 paid sick days each year for reasons of personal or family illness. Three of such days may be used for other personal reasons. Sick days may be carried over, up to a maximum of 60 sick days. Additionally, holidays during the academic year are based on the school calendar and generally include: 8 holidays, Thanksgiving week, Christmas Break (2 weeks), Spring Break week. Vacation time is accrued at the rate of ten days per year or as per contract or tenure.

Professional Development Expenses
The administration believes in supporting the individual growth of its employees. To encourage employee development, we offer a professional development reimbursement program to eligible employees who attend job-related conferences and seminars which enhance our programs, mission, and administration.
