| Description/Notes: | Responsible for oversight of all financial and business affairs of the district. Direct and manage the business operations of the district including accounting, payroll, and purchasing. Provide leadership for the district’s financial services activity to ensure legally sound and effective management practices. Direct and monitor the management and investment of all district funds and ensure they are adequately protected. Serve as chief financial advisor and budget advisor to the superintendent and board of trustees. |
| Qualifications: | Education/Certification: Master’s Degree in Business Related Field, Accounting, or Education Administration Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Business Related Field or Accounting TASBO Certification Preferred Special Knowledge/Skills Knowledge of school finance, budgeting, accounting systems, and economics Knowledge of federal and state financial reporting regulations and policies and procedures Knowledge of financial applications and accounting Knowledge of budgeting principles and practices Knowledge of bond issuance and debt management Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets and perform data analysis Evaluates accounting problems, develops pertinent data, and recommends improved procedures Communicate effectively with others Works collaboratively in team based environments Experience: Successful public school finance/business experience preferred |
