| Description/Notes: | Primary Purpose: Manage and coordinate wellness and academic support services activities to ensure programs meet the needs of students and comply with all state, federal and local requirements. Provide and coordinate counsel and assistance to other executive staff members and other divisions of the district through Guidance, Counseling and Wellness department as needed. |
| Qualifications: | Education/Certification: Master’s Degree (Masters in Counseling Preferred) Department of State Health Services Licensed Professional Counselor (Preferred) TEA Professional School Counselor Certification Valid administrative certificate issued by SBEC Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable Special Knowledge Skills: Ability to manage budget and personnel Ability to coordinate district function Ability to implement policy and procedures Ability to read, analyze and interpret multiple forms of data Strong interpersonal skills to develop collaborative relationships with district personnel and community agencies Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions Ability to use standard office equipment including computer and peripherals Counseling knowledge of counseling theories, skills and services Knowledge and skills in laws as it relates to the counseling profession Experience: Successful elementary and/or secondary school counseling experience (Preferred) Successful campus or district leadership experience |
