Description/Notes: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Instructional Management
1. Check with coaches to ensure compliance with state and league rules, regarding athletics. Work with coaches in developing schedules and regulations.

School/Organization Climate
2. Work with administrators in developing procedure and philosophy to orient coaches in these areas.
3. Schedule, prepare and coordinate all sports activities.

School/Organization Improvement
4. Continually check and inspect facilities for proper repairs and updates to existing athletic complexes. Prepare budgets and supervises expenditures for all sports. Prepare bids and/or quotes for the purchase of athletic equipment.


Personnel Management
5. Confer with building principals and administration in regard to personnel needs in the athletic department.
6. Appraise the high school head coach/athletic coordinator with feedback from the high school principals.
7. Assist and collaborate with building principals in the appraisal of all coaches.
Administration and Fiscal/Facilities Management
8. Schedule and pay officials for all home games.
9. Order all equipment necessary to conduct the athletic program.
10. Plan, organize, administer, and make financial reports for each athletic event.
11. Obtain security and ambulance service for contests where needed.
12. Administer sale of football tickets and be in charge of the stadium.

Student Management
13. Promote sportsmanship among coaches and students. Ensure the supervision of all practices and activities.

School/Community Climate
14. Represent the athletic department at all meetings pertaining to the athletic program.
15. Promote the athletic program through the various public relations media - - newspaper, radio, T.V., parents, booster clubs, etc.

Professional Growth and Development
16. Observe professional and ethical standards, in accordance with generally accepted
community standards and the Texas Education Agency code of ethics.
17. Provide leadership in addressing challenges facing the profession; pursue professional
development activities; disseminate ideas and information to other professionals.
18. Perform such other duties as may be assigned by law, by the business manager, or as may be necessary for job efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications: Education:
• Master's degree from an accredited college or university
Experience:
• Experience in coaching (to include experience as a head coach in a varsity sport)
• Experience in the development of schedules and budgeting
Salary Range: $103,840.22-$143,399.26
