Campus Description: LaPoynor ISD is an East Texas school district currently serving 470 students in grades PK-12 and all facilities are located on one tract of land spanning approximately 40 acres. District facilities include both an elementary and secondary campus, agriculture shop and classrooms, two gymnasiums, cafeteria, maintenance and transportation facility, band hall, daycare, rodeo arena and livestock barn.

The district offers cross country, basketball, baseball, softball, and track with opportunities for students to participate in theater, marching band, welding, Geometry in Construction, dual credit and Advanced Placement programs. LaPoynor ISD also operates an employer based child-care facility to attract and retain highly qualified educators

Description/Notes: The LaPoynor ISD Board of Trustees is seeking an innovative educational leader to serve as the Superintendent of Schools.
Qualifications: The successful candidate must possess the following characteristics and qualifications:
Texas Superintendent Certificate
Administrator experience of 3 or more years. Superintendent/Central Office
experience preferred.
Must possess sound management practices and skills that demonstrate knowledge of
school finance and budget management.
A strong background in student performance success and educational technology.
Must be an individual with a reputation as being trustworthy, ethical, accessible, and a
confident force who is involved in and visible in the District and throughout the
community;
An innovative problem solver that is committed to work in alliance with the Board of
Trustees, staff, students, parents and community to instill a climate of mutual trust,
transparency and cooperation; and
Be an effective leader who empowers and motivates staff members to fulfill their
responsibilities independently while demonstrating knowledge and accountability for
the Districts overall progress in carrying out its mission.
Salary Range: Negotiable, based on experience
