Description/Notes: JG Consulting has engaged with the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District (Lamar CISD) to recruit qualified candidates to serve as the Superintendent.

The next leader must have expertise and knowledge in academic policy and pedagogy and its impact on student academic achievement (teaching and campus administration preferred). The Superintendent shall possess a proven track record of successfully seeking and implementing best practices to maximize the success of the entire organization with an emphasis on raising the academic achievement of all students. The district leader will demonstrate an unwavering commitment and dedication to supporting and growing a culture of inclusion and equity across a diverse district and community setting. The Superintendent must have experience with budget management, and the Texas school finance system and adept at legislative engagement and advocacy.

Lamar CISD engenders a value of putting students first. The campuses are designed with smaller enrollments (high schools are designed for no more than 2,000 students) to provide more opportunities for students to assume leadership roles and participate in campus activities. Lamar CISD also has sixth-grade-only campuses (middle schools) which focus on the needs of pre-adolescents, providing a smooth transition to secondary schools. Lamar CISD is proud to be an HEB Excellence in Education Large District winner. LCISD is home to National Principals of the Year, Gates Millennium Scholars, National Blue Ribbon Schools, Rodeo Art Grand Champions, State Athletic Champions and is the recent member of the comptroller's Honors Circle for financial and academic excellence. Lamar CISD has also passed four bond referendums over the past 15 years, while maintaining one of the lowest tax rates in the Houston area.
Qualifications: The Lamar Consolidated Independent School District (Lamar CISD) Board of Trustees is seeking a commited and highly engaged leader to serve as the Superintendent. The successful candidate should possess the following characteristics and qualifications:

A proven leader who has preferably served as an educator with three (3) or more years of experience serving at the executive-level (Doctoral Degree preferred);
An effective communicator who is willing to defend and make difficult decisions on behalf of the district;
Expertise and knowledge in academic policy and pedagogy and its impact on student
academic achievement (teaching and campus administration preferred);
A track record of successfully seeking and implementing best practices to maximize the
success of the entire organization with an emphasis on raising the academic achievement of all students;
An unwavering commitment and dedication to supporting and growing a culture of inclusion and equity across a diverse district and community setting;
A successful record of implementing systems-based practices to address current and
future demands as the districts leader (i.e.; crisis management during COVID-19, school
safety, CTE and career coursework opportunities, etc.);
A leader who embraces and advances the districts innovative programs including but not limited to supporting Social Emotional Learning (SEL), the districts early college high school programs and participation in The Holdsworth Center leadership program;
A commitment to strengthen the districts practice and performance in serving all students including those with special needs, students with cognitive and developmental disabilities, learning differences and/or learning challenges;
Ability to communicate authentically and work collaboratively alongside the School Board, with a diverse body of students, teachers, staff, administrators, parents, and community to build a climate of transparency, mutual trust, respect and cooperation;
A team builder who has the management style and interpersonal skills to hire, develop,
motivate and maintain a highly effective executive team and who can set clear expectations and delegate authority while remaining knowledgeable and accountable for the districts overall progress and activities;
Experience with budget management, and the Texas school finance system and adept at
legislative engagement and advocacy.
