Description/Notes: Support the Assistant Superintendent in the management of the district’s human resources functions and to ensure quality staffing, recruiting and the effective implementation of practices and procedures. Assist with the development and implementation of human resource programs and interpret, recommend and review policies and regulations that affect the district.

Direct the Human Resource Department initiatives to ensure the recruitment and retention of qualified personnel. Direct the District’s Mentoring and Induction Program and the Substitute Management System. Oversee district efforts to provide training and development opportunities to ensure employee compliance and the human resource development of professional and support staff.
Qualifications: Education/Certification
Master’s degree required
Mid-Management Administration Certification or equivalent preferred
PHR Preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills
Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
Knowledge of the selection, training and development of personnel
Ability to interpret policy and procedures
Ability to develop and deliver effective training to adult learners
Strong organizational, public relations, & interpersonal skills
A working knowledge of laws and regulations relating to the principles and practices of employee relations,
best managerial practices, FMLA, ADA, and Workers’ Compensation
Knowledge of school employment law and hearing procedures
Working knowledge of certification laws, guidelines/requirements, Texas Education Code, Board Policies
Willingness to travel (in-state and out-of-state)
Effective use of technology
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Knowledge of induction program components

Experience
Three years of classroom teaching experience
Three years’ experience leadership/supervisory role, preferred
School district human resources experience preferred
3-5 years’ experience in human resources preferred
Salary Range: $89,553.00 - $111,870.00
