Description/Notes: | Primary Purpose: The Student Teachers and Officers Preventing School Violence (STOP) Grant Project Director will provide leadership, operational and strategic direction for pre-award and post-award grant administration. Additionally, the director will provide supervision to employees, contractors, and advisory committees. The director will ensure that all federal reporting is completed on time as required. Major Responsibilities and Duties: Program Management 1. Evaluate all federal legislation, projects, and programs for grant, entitlement, and allocation opportunities relevant to the needs of the district and make recommendations regarding participation. 2. Serve as liaison between school and other agencies on joint projects that are federally funded. 3. Monitor grant-funded programs and their expenditures to ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines and ensure that programs are cost effective and managed wisely. 4. Advise superintendent or designated administrator of the financial and administrative impact on the district of federal grant awards. 5. Compile budget and cost estimates based on federal grant project awards. 6. Conduct staff meetings. 7. Ensure a productive work environment at all sites. 8. Supervise and coordinate all staff. Policy, Reports, and Law 9. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required, including mandatory financial reports to USDE. 10. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and the local board policy. 11. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. 12. The superintendent or his/her designee may assign other duties and accountabilities. Supervisory Responsibilities Supervise, evaluate, and recommend the hiring and firing of staff assigned. Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including computer and peripherals. Posture: Frequent sitting and standing; occasional bending/stooping, pushing, pulling and twisting Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse, occasional reaching Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying; occasional physical restraint of students to control behavior Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; work inside and outside, exposure to noise; occasional districtwide and statewide travel. |
Qualifications: | Qualifications: Education/Certification: Bachelors degree from an accredited university Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of federal grants rules and regulations Ability to interpret data Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Experience: Three years experience in federal program management Or similar supervisory or management experience dealing with budgets and personnel |
