|Description/Notes:||The Milano Independent School District – (www.milanoisd.net) – is a small rural community located in Milam County. The Milano Independent School District is located centrally between Austin, College Station and Temple Texas. The Milano Independent School District has strong academic programs and prides itself in the first-rate quality of its schools and staff. The district is a vital part of a dynamic and agricultural community. Parental support, dedicated staff members and top-quality instruction contribute to an excellent learning environment in the schools.
Milano ISD has an approximate enrollment of 400 students and staff of 81 full-time and part-time employees. The District consists of three campuses. A PK - 5 Elementary Campus with one principal, a 6 - 8 Junior High Campus with one Associate Principal and a 9 - 12 High School Campus with one Principal. The High School Principal supervises instructionally grades 6 – 12. Milano ISD campuses have implemented Capturing Kids Hearts and is an upbeat and energetic district who provides a safe learning environment. Milano ISD is proud of our students, teachers, and boasts of supportive parents and strong community.
The Milano ISD focuses on instruction and attention to individual student needs. Teachers and students set academic goals and strive for success every day. In high school, the district offers many curricular choices and has a strong Career and Tech Program as well as offering dual- credit on line in conjunction with Blinn College.
Technology is an integral part of the Milano ISD instruction. We offer one-to-one student device and boast of intensive computer instruction district wide. Classrooms are equipped with Interactive Panels to encourage student participation. Milano ISD has multiple computer labs and a library located in the elementary and the high school.
Milano ISD is classified as Class 2A and participates in athletics, academics and OAP. The District encourages extracurricular activities and other student co-curricular activities to help round out the learning experience.
