Campus Description: Providing Alternative Pathways for Student Success—Ages 5 to 22
Districts contract with us for our highly specialized educational services for their students ages 5-22 with emotional and academic special needs with our Academic and Behavior Schools. Our alternative schools offer at-risk students in grades 6-12 a second chance at success. Highly structured learning environments make our Highpoint Schools effective with adjudicated or expelled youth.

Description/Notes: Provide effective leadership for the Schools division to ensure a high-quality educational program for at-risk students. Ensure the division’s operations of the specialty schools (ABS East, ABS West, Highpoint, and Fortis Academy). Work to provide education plans to meet the needs of all students ages 5 through 22 in grades K-12 and ensure compliance with all state, federal, and participating district requirements.
Qualifications: Education/Certification:
• Master’s degree from an accredited university
• Texas Principal or Mid-Management Certificate
• Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS)

Special Knowledge/Skills:
• Thorough understanding of school accountability, special education, alternative education and regular education operations and policies
• Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data
• Ability to build consensus and support in order to accomplish Department and Division goals
• Ability to develop, monitor, and evaluate systems that support and accomplish Department and Division goals
• Ability to effectively solve problems and make sound decisions consistent with the Department and Division goals
• Ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement
• Ability to coordinate and plan Division programs and services
• Strong organization, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills

• Record of successful experience as a school Principal
• Record of effectively appraising, supervising, and coaching campus-based administrators, faculty, and staff
Salary Range: 240 days
$117,038 - $137,693
