To help provide the kind of instruction and learning environment that will enable each student on the campus to master content area skills that are appropriate to age, grade level, and individual capacity and to serve as a resource for teachers.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Implement the campus curriculum, including timelines, scope, and sequence.
Analyze campus curriculum effectiveness and recommend changes where appropriate.
Help create innovative methods and strategies to fit the needs of the campus students.
Perform classroom visitation and model lessons.
Help disaggregate and interpret campus achievement data, including STAAR scores.
Administer individual student assessments as needed.
Provide instruction to selected students assigned.
Stay abreast of current research and development and research-based programs.
Provide staff development as assigned.
Prepare necessary inventories, budget requests, and similar documents.
Other duties as assigned by the campus administrator.
Serve on district curriculum design teams as assigned.
Ability to teach in a hands-on setting with children from early childhood through 2nd grade.
Ability to maintain emotional control under stress and to work with frequent interruptions.
Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned
Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
One year student teaching or approved internship
