Description/Notes: | Establish and maintain district-wide data governance standards ensuring that critical student data is collected, stored, shared, and reported in a manner that is accurate, reliable, consistent, accessible, secure, and timely. Create and nurture a culture of data quality, accuracy, and integrity throughout the district. |
Qualifications: | Education/Certification: Master's Degree Valid Texas Administrator’s or Supervisor’s Certificate preferred Competencies: Understands IT concepts and systems Understands data governance principles and strategies Understands how data use supports and informs education policies and programs Solution-oriented; able to mediate multiple perspectives to resolve an issue Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to align decisions with broad district mission, board policy, and state law Ability to investigate, pinpoint, and resolve system-related problems related to student data systems and reporting Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form Ability to interface with all district personnel in a positive and professional manner Ability to work in a group setting Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Access and Outlook Special Knowledge/Skills: Expert on Texas student attendance accounting Expert on Texas student discipline reporting Expert on Texas electronic student records transfer Knowledge of curriculum and instruction PK-12 Knowledge of rules and regulations related to student special populations Knowledge of student information system applications such as enrollment, attendance, discipline, registration, scheduling, grades, special education, bullying/harassment, and state/federal data reporting Ability to create plans, processes, procedures, and timelines to support policy implementation Knowledge of local, state, and federal policies and procedures regarding attendance, discipline, registration, scheduling, grades, special education, bullying/harassment, and state/federal data reporting Knowledge of local, state, and federal policies and procedures regarding student data privacy and the application of FERPA, COPPA, HIPPA and other laws in the student data space Demonstrated ability as in training professional and paraprofessional staff on topics related to student data systems, data quality, data entry, and data standards Demonstrated ability for continuous self-improvement Experience: Experience with large database management systems Experience with creating processes/procedures to support policy implementation Experience with development, maintenance, and revision of process/procedure documentation Experience with Texas TSDS/PEIMS, PBMAS and TREx systems Experience with state and federal data audits, requirements, and data collections Experience writing Corrective Action Plans to address data quality issues Experience with training adults in data systems, data quality, data entry, and data standards Campus- or district-level administrative experience preferred |
Salary Range: | $86,105.00-$102,508.00 |
